A monetary guarantee for the court that a defendant will appear to court every time they are ordered to do so while their case is pending. Bail is set according to a schedule agreed to by the Judges having jurisdiction over that particular criminal charge. Several points are considered regarding the arrested individual. The charge filed, their prior arrest record, history of family violence or any type of prior sexual related charges.
